Exhibition of paintings and drawings by Janina Jasińska

In March 2019, the “ARSENAL 55” Foundation supported financially the exhibition of works by Janina (Janka) Jasińska, who passed away in 2018. The exhibition was organized by the Lubusz Museum in Gorzow Wielkopolski.

Janka, as everybody used to call her, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She was a member of the group of artists who organized the National Exhibition of Young Art in Warsaw in 1955. In the late ’60s she left Poland. After short stays in France and the US she settled in Sweden, where she continued her artistic career. Her works were presented by prestigious galleries in Great Britain, France, Sweden and Poland. Towards the end of her life she left Sweden and settled in France for health-related reasons.

Organized by the Lubusz Museum, the exhibition of paintings and drawings by Janka Jasińska provides the first opportunity for Gorzow residents to get acquainted with the artist’s work.

During the vernissage the board of the “ARSENAL 55” Foundation presented the Foundation itself as well as its statutory objectives in the presence of media and the representatives of local authorities.

The Honorary President of the Foundation, Mr Wojciech Luterek, was awarded a merit badge by the Director of the Lubusz Museum in Gorzow Wielkopolski, Mrs Ewa Pawlak, Ph.D.
